A comprehensive evaluation, then a plan built around you.

Every new patient begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Your provider reviews your concerns, history, past treatment and goals, and you decide on an individualized treatment plan together.

Your evaluation

  • A review of your symptoms, history, past treatment and goals
  • Pharmacogenomic (genetic) testing when your provider thinks it may help
  • A clear explanation of your diagnosis and treatment options

Your ongoing care

  • Medication management and follow-up visits with your provider
  • In-person or telehealth appointments
  • Advanced options such as TMS and Spravato® when appropriate

Conditions We Treat

Conditions we treat.

Choose a condition to learn more. Every new patient starts with a comprehensive evaluation, and treatment is individualized.

Depression

Ongoing sadness, low energy or loss of interest that gets in the way of daily life. Care starts with an evaluation, and advanced options such as TMS and Spravato® are available for some patients.

Anxiety & Panic

Constant worry, panic attacks or fears that are hard to control. Evaluation and medication management, with a treatment plan you decide on with your provider.

ADHD

Trouble with focus, organization, impulsivity or restlessness at school, at work or at home. Evaluation and individualized treatment, including medication management.

Confidential outpatient care for opioid dependence, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with Suboxone®. Call our office to ask about other substance use concerns.

Bipolar Disorder

Mood swings between highs and lows that disrupt relationships, work and sleep. Careful diagnosis and ongoing medication management, adjusted with your provider over time.

PTSD & Trauma

Flashbacks, nightmares or feeling constantly on edge after a difficult experience. Trauma-informed evaluation and medication management.

OCD

Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. An evaluation of the mental health and medical factors behind ongoing sleep problems.

Postpartum Depression

Low mood, worry or exhaustion after having a baby that does not go away. Supportive evaluation and medication management.

Anger & Irritability

Anger or irritability that feels hard to control. We look for conditions that may be contributing and discuss treatment options with you.

Autism & Developmental Conditions

Autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Individualized evaluation and care, including medication management where appropriate.

Schizophrenia & Psychosis

Hallucinations, unusual beliefs or confused thinking. A comprehensive evaluation and ongoing medication management.

Advanced Treatment Options

When antidepressants are not enough.

Premier Psychiatry offers two advanced treatment options for depression that has not improved enough with antidepressants: Spravato® (esketamine) nasal spray and TMS therapy. Whether either is right for you is decided after an evaluation. TMS is offered at our Orland Park office, and Spravato® at both our Orland Park and Willowbrook offices.

REMS Program

Spravato® (Esketamine) Therapy

A nasal spray taken in a REMS-certified healthcare setting under the direct observation of a healthcare provider. Spravato is FDA-approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression (on its own or with an oral antidepressant) and, together with an oral antidepressant, for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder who have acute suicidal thoughts or behavior; it has not been shown to prevent suicide or to reduce suicidal thoughts or behavior. Its boxed warning covers sedation, dissociation, respiratory depression, abuse and misuse, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

FDA-approved for specific types of depression in adults
Available only through the SPRAVATO® REMS program
Monitoring for at least 2 hours after each dose
No driving until the next day after a restful sleep
Offered at our Orland Park and Willowbrook offices

Non-Invasive Treatment

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

A non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain circuits involved in mood. No anesthesia is needed. The most common side effects are discomfort where the coil sits, scalp or face tingling and mild headaches; seizures are possible but the risk is low.

FDA-cleared for depression that has not responded to antidepressant medication
A typical course is daily sessions, 5 days a week, for 4–6 weeks
